Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Locals reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, nearly one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham area - over 175 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both regions.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after past events where comparable situations led to major medical consequences in the region.
