Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A chopper hovering over a crowded southern California beach unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Recordings shared online capture the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then falling towards the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
